FAQ (I-Card)

  • 1. What is Switch to I-Card?Open or Close

    • If you have a Mahatma I-Card but you have registered in AKonnect using the Email, Mobile or Google methods, then this feature will allow you to update your registration so that it is based on your I-Card.

  • 2. What are the benefits of Switching to I-Card?Open or Close

    • Your I-Card will automatically be linked in AKonnect.
    • If you ever logout or if you want to login on a new device, then you do not have to remember which mobile no or email you had previously logged in with in order to get your old messages back.
    • Special Categories that you have subscribed to such as WMHT, iY+, etc. will be preserved even when you login to a new device with your I-Card number.
    • When you update your I-Card contact details, they will automatically be updated in your AKonnect Profile.
    • Your AKonnect Profile City/State/Country will be updated with your I-Card City/State/Country.

  • 3. I am not able to enter a matching Email or Mobile Number during I-Card registration.Open or Close

    • You can update your I-Card Email Address or Mobile Number by going to the I-Card tab and selecting ‘Update Contact Details’ from the menu. See the Update Contact Details Help Video.
    • Please note that this can only be done for a Mahatma I-Card, not for a Temporary ID (Z-number).

  • 4. What if I do not receive an OTP?Open or Close

    • First check your Spam folder. If you don’t see it, press ‘Resend OTP’.
    • If you have a Gmail address, use that. Sometimes other email providers block our verification emails.
    • If you still do not receive an OTP, ‘Report an Issue’ so that we can look into it.

  • 5. I forgot my I-Card number.Open or Close

    • Please Report an Issue from the Akonnect App and we will look up your I-Card number for you.

  • 6. How can I update the details of my I-Card?Open or Close

    • You can directly update your Email Address or Mobile Number by going to the I-Card tab and selecting ‘Update Contact Details’ from the menu. See the Update Contact Details Help Video.

    • You can request an update to your Name, Address, Photo and other information by going to the I-Card tab and selecting ‘I-Card Update Request’ from the menu. See the I-Card Update Request Help Video. 

    • Please note that this can only be done for a Mahatma I-Card, not for a Temporary ID (Z-number). Also, this feature is currently available only for mahatmas whose I-Card country is India.

  • 7. I don’t have an I-Card.Open or Close

    • You can apply for a Mahatma I-Card from your local I-Card Coordinator or by sending a request to [email protected].
    • If you need an I-Card number to register for an event, you can create a Temp I-Card. See the Temp I-Card Creation Help Video.

  • 8. Can I update the I-Card details of another mahatma if they are not able to do so?Open or Close

    • Yes, see the Update Contact Details and I-Card Update Request Help Videos to learn how.

  • 9. How can I find out the status of my I-Card Update Request?Open or Close

    • Please contact the Adalaj I-Card Department at [email protected] and mention your Mahatma I-Card and Request ID (sent to you by email and SMS).  

  • 10. I don’t see the I-Card Update Request option.Open or Close

    • This option will not be visible if you have a Temporary ID (Z-number) or if your I-Card country is not India.
